LANrurugi documentation

A self-hosted library for manga first, and for e-books such as PDF and EPUB too, built on LANraragi and extensively reworked and extended in Rust + React — data- and API-compatible with an existing LANraragi deployment.
  • Install (Docker / NAS) — get LANrurugi running and pointed at the library you already have.
  • Native install — run it directly on Linux, an Apple Silicon Mac or FreeBSD, without containers.
  • Quickstart — first login, scanning the library, importing existing data.
  • Supported formats — the archives and e-books (PDF, EPUB, MOBI/AZW3, DjVu, FB2, TXT) the library accepts, and how each is shown.
  • Testing the API from these docs — send requests from your browser straight to your own instance, and what to do when it does not work.
  • Plugin authoring — write a metadata, login, or download plugin.
  • API reference — the complete HTTP API: every endpoint, its parameters and responses, and a command line you can copy.

The API reference is not hand-written. crates/lanrurugi-api-docgen generates it from the server’s own route registrations, which means:

  • Every endpoint the server serves is in it — “in the code but not in the docs” cannot happen;
  • It does not list endpoints the server does not actually serve;
  • For endpoints shared with LANraragi, it carries that project’s field-level descriptions verbatim (apart from the path prefix and the authentication section);
  • Endpoints whose request/response shapes have not been written down yet are marked as such, rather than being given an invented schema that merely looks plausible.

CI fails outright when the generated result disagrees with the code, so this reference cannot rot the way a hand-maintained document does.
